Once we define the concept, I develop it visually through hand-drawn or computer-aided illustrations, refining it with you until we reach a design you love. That final design becomes the blueprint I send to production.

What determines the cost of a piece of a custom made engagement ring or fine jewellery?

I work primarily in 18K solid gold because it delivers the best alloy-to-gold ratio for durability. Pure 24K gold is naturally soft, which makes it prone to bending and unsuitable for holding diamonds and stones securely. For clients with gold allergies, platinum is an excellent alternative.

The 4Cs — cut, colour, clarity, and carat — along with type, shape, and rarity, all drive gemstone and diamond pricing. Higher grades and unique shapes command a premium. I help you balance your budget against your preferences to achieve the look you are after without unnecessary compromise.

Simpler styles such as a classic solitaire or minimal setting cost less to produce. Intricate designs with detailed carving, multiple stones, or varied setting types require more time and skill, and the price reflects that. I will always be upfront about how design choices affect your budget before we commit to anything.

Allowing adequate time means I can give your piece the care and attention it deserves. Custom rings take 5 to 6 weeks from final design to completion. For urgent requests, I can sometimes accommodate a faster schedule though additional charges may apply.
